England cricket team’s star wicket-keeper batter Jos Buttler played an excellent inning of 162 runs yesterday in the first match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series against the Netherlands cricket team. Buttler took only 47 balls to complete a century in the ODI game and ended up with 162 runs from just 70 deliveries.
Dawid Malan and Phil Salt scored hundreds as well, while Liam Livingstone scored a quickfire 66. At one stage, it seemed like the English team would score the first-ever 500 in ODI cricket history. However, they fell two runs short of that mark. England finished with 498/4 in 50 overs.
After winning the Man of the Match award, Buttler addressed the question of England is aiming a 500 soon. Here’s what he had to say:

During the post-match presentation of the one-sided fixture, the winning captain Eoin Morgan heaped praise on his teammate. He labeled him as the best white-ball cricketer right now and mentioned that he is in a different zone right now.
The second match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series between the England cricket team and the Netherlands cricket team will take place tomorrow afternoon from 2:30 PM IST onwards. It will be interesting to see how the Dutch team performs.
Looking at the way the England cricket team performed in the first ODI, the Netherlands cricket team skipper Pieter Seelaar may think twice before winning the toss and deciding to bowl first again in the upcoming matches.
