“The biggest positive has been…,” Mohammad Kaif impressed with Indian star’s performances ahead of ODI World Cup 2023

Mohammed Siraj has been India’s best bowler of late in ODIs.

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif is impressed by pacer Mohammad Siraj for his heroics with the ball of late. He said that the right-arm fast bowler is the biggest positive for India going into the World Cup as he has been getting the breakthrough with the new ball and at the death consistently.

Mohammad Siraj’s relevation with the ball

Mohammed Siraj has been one of the main reasons behind India’s success in the ODIs this year. The right-arm pacer has looked threatening every time he came to the ball and has troubled the opposition batters with his impeccable line and lengths.

Not only in the powerplay, but Siraj also has been sensational with the ball even in the death and is bowling economical spells in all games he has played so far in the year 2022. The Hyderabad pacer was leading wicket-taker for India in ODIs 2022.

Siraj started the year 2023 on high as he bowled staggering well in the series against Sri Lanka as he ended the three ODI series as the highest wicket taker with his best coming in the last game, where he bagged 4 wickets. The pacer took 9 wickets in the series and made India win the series.

With Siraj performing in almost every game, Mohammad Kaif lavished rich praise on the pacer. Calling him the biggest positive, he said: “The biggest positive has been Mohammed Siraj. Wanting to win the World Cup in India in flat conditions, I think Mohammed Siraj has done so well. If you see the last couple of matches, he’s been bowling really well, getting the breakthrough with the new ball. He has got wickets even when he comes in to bowl towards the end.”

Mohammed Siraj will be next seen in action during the ODI series against New Zealand, starting 18th January.
