Interestingly, his two centuries in Tests came while batting at No.9. In the current era, it is expected that a No.9 in Test XI also has decent batting skills. Hence, going forward, we can expect this record to be broken. Among the active cricketers, Jason Holder already has a century batting at No.9.
2) Most ODI wickets on home soil – 193 wickets
Taking the most ODI wickets on home soil is one of the world records of Shaun Pollock that might be broken in the future. Pollock was magnificent whenever his team played in South Africa. At the moment, he is the highest wicket-taker at home for any player in the ODI format
However, Shakib Al Hasan is close on his heels. The Bangladesh all-rounder currently has 179 wickets at home. With the ODI World Cup scheduled this year, he is all set to play a few more games in preparation. Hence, he could beat the record by Shaun Pollock within 2023, itself.
