Shimron Hetmyer Rejoins Rajasthan Royals, Set To Play Final League Match Against CSK

In a positive development for the Rajasthan Royals fans, the team’s star Caribbean player Shimron Hetmyer has rejoined the squad after taking a break from the competition owing to his child’s birth. Hetmyer was unavailable for the matches against the Delhi Capitals and the Lucknow Super Giants.

While the Rajasthan Royals lost their match against the Delhi Capitals, they managed to register a win against the Lucknow Super Giants despite Hetmyer’s absence. In his absence, the team management gave a chance to Jimmy Neesham. The Kiwi all-rounder unluckily got run out last night in the match between the Rajasthan Royals and the Lucknow Super Giants.

According to a report by ESPNCricinfo, Hetmyer is undergoing quarantine right now and will be available to play in the important final league match for the Rajasthan Royals which is against the Chennai Super Kings.

“Hours after scoring a high-impact 16-ball 31 in the victory against Punjab Kings on May 8, Hetmyer rushed back home to Guyana to be by the side of his wife Nirvani, who was due to give birth to their first child.  It is understood that Hetmyer is undergoing quarantine as per IPL protocol and will be out in time,” reported ESPNCricinfo.

Whose place will Shimron Hetmyer take in the Rajasthan Royals playing XI?

As mentioned ahead, Jimmy Neesham got an opportunity to play for the Rajasthan Royals when Hetmyer was not present. So it seems like Neesham will be the one who will be left out when Hetmyer is back with the squad.

Hetmyer was bought for a big price at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, and with his explosive batting performances thus far, the left-handed batter has justified the faith that the Rajasthan Royals showed in him despite considering the fact that his national team does not pick him in the team due to fitness issues.
