We finally have a brand-new challenger for Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal championship titles. And as a shock to all, it was the unlikely new WWE signee, Logan Paul. WWE have officially confirmed the Roman Reigns vs Logan Paul match for Crown Jewel on November 5 in Saudi Arabia.
It all started when Roman was invited as a guest on Logan’s IMPAULSIVE podcast this week. It seemed like a fun conversation between all the members present which ended on a high note. But after the Tribal chief left, Logan started trash talking about him behind his back with his friends on the podcast. He even went on to claim that he can beat Roman one on one right then and there.

He even bragged about his achievements like his boxing match against former champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his win at SummerSlam against The Miz. This led to Roman getting upset and responding to him by asking his wiseman Paul Heyman to handle the situation, which he did and even got Paul to respond. This led Triple H to get involved into the mix and invited the social media star on SmackDown to clarify the situation.
How did Logan Paul earn a WWE Undisputed Universal Championship match?
On SmackDown, Logan opened the show and called out Reigns to the ring, which led to the Bloodline with Paul Heyman and Sami Zayn to interrupt him and ended with Sami Zayn getting punched in the jaw. In the following match between Sami and Ricochet, he even helped Ricochet pick up the win.
It was then announced on social media by WWE’s official handles that they will indeed meet each other in the ring at Crown Jewel on November 5 happening at Mrsool Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The YouTube sensation even dared Roman to show up at the official press conference for the show at Las Vegas.
What happened in Roman Reigns vs Logan Paul WWE press conference?
The press conference itself held at the Dawg House Saloon & Sportsbook, Las Vegas was an explosive one to say the least. While answering media questions, Roman Reigns explained why he took the match. He said as he was the face of the company, and they want him the smash Logan Paul in Saudi Arabia, he will do so.
Roman said: “Because I’m a good Tribal Chief…that’s my obligation to carry this company. If that’s what they need me to do, smash Logan Paul in Saudi Arabia, then that’s what I do,” (42:51 to 43:12)
Logan, himself didn’t hold back either, and instigated the Tribal Chief by calling him Paul Heyman’s boy. To this, Roman got up from his seat and shoved Paul aggressively, prompting Triple H to intervene.

Whether you like him as a valid challenger or not, Logan Paul is a Social Media Juggernaut with a combined 33.6 million followers across all social media platforms and total 7.45 billion views on his YouTube. He brings an amazing number of them to the WWE Universe and those are stats WWE just can’t ignore. That is the reason why he is main eventing Cown Jewel and that fact, even Roman acknowledged during the conference.
Roman has been announced for next week’s SmackDown episode where things are definitely going to be volatile.
