Ishan Kishan no doubt will be the first-choice opener in the team and is also likely to don the keeping gloves. Shubman Gill is likely to make his debut for India in T20Is as well and will be the second opener in the side against Sri Lanka in the T20I series.

With no Virat Kohli in the team, Suryakumar Yadav is expected to bat at No.3 whereas with seniors being rested, the team is likely to give Deepak Hooda a longer rope at No.4. Skipper Hardik Pandya no doubt will bat at No.5 and also play a crucial role with the ball as well.

Sanju Samson is likely to be given the finisher’s role at No.6 along with Washington Sundar, who will also handle the spin bowling duties at No.7. Whereas Yuzvendra Chahal is expected to be the leg-spinner in the team.

Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik are likely to be the three front-line pacers in the side. The pace battery seems a little inexperienced but they have been performing well of late.
