Pragyan Ojha predicts 4 teams for IPL 2020 playoffs

As IPL 2020 has reached its business end, the race to the playoffs has really heated up as three spots in the playoffs are still up for grabs with Mumbai Indians being the only team which has been able to secure their spot in the playoffs.

While everyone is wondering which four teams will make it to the playoffs, the former Indian left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha has come out with his prediction. Ojha has predicted Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab to be the top 4 teams at the end of the preliminary round.

According to Ojha, the IPL 2020 season has been so intense and weird that he doesn’t want to apply his cricketing logic while predicting the names of the teams. He actually wants all the Indian captains in the tournament to do well and the four teams that he has named are captained by Indian players.

Mumbai Indians, although, is being led by Kieron Pollard at the moment, but that’s only because Rohit Sharma is currently injured. The BCCI medical team is expected to examine Rohit’s fitness this Sunday and if he gets a green signal from the board, he will lead Mumbai in the playoffs.

Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, two teams which are being led by Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli respectively, were looking in great position with regard to their playoffs qualification a week ago. They are still in top 3, but if Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad win their next game, the next match between DC and RCB will become a knockout and whichever team loses it might be out of the tournament.

However, it’s still very much possible that both DC and RCB can qualify if one of KXIP or SRH loses their last game. Basically, for Pragyan Ojha’s prediction to come true, KXIP will have to beat CSK tonight and Mumbai Indians will have to beat SRH on Tuesday.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
