“People have bad days”, Kieron Pollard reacts to the slump in Suryakumar Yadav’s form

Mumbai Indians are struggling at the moment in IPL 2023. Key players such as Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma are failing to step up. Here, we take a look as Mumbai Indians batting coach Kieron Pollard reacts to the slump in Suryakumar Yadav’s form.

Suryakumar Yadav’s form is a concern for Mumbai Indians

Kieron Pollard also faced many struggles in his career but he came back strongly. Suryakumar Yadav has been enjoying the last two years or so for both Team India and in the IPL. However, recently, his form has dropped. While he was poor in the ODIs against Australia, even in the ongoing IPL, he is not looking confident.

Pollard had a few comments to make about this. Speaking to India Today, Pollard said, “We have no concerns about Surya’s form, again. I believe you guys make more of it than we do sometimes within the team setup. People have bad days and that is unfortunate as cricketers our bad days are highlighted and we keep speaking on and on about it rather than trying to look at the positive or what he has done over the past 18 months or so in cricket as an individual.”

The former West Indian skipper added, “We do it on a day-by-day basis and the way he is striking the ball, the way he is training we have got confidence that he will do justice to his talent and we will continue to back him.”

MI can try to bring the best out of SKY by batting him at No.3

SKY‘s best batting slot in a T20 XI is at No.3. However, Mumbai Indians are currently having Cameron Green in this position. If MI can bring the best out of SKY in this position, that will be half the job done for them.

However, that would weaken the middle order. Tilak Varma is needed at No.5 and then it could be down to Cameron Green and Tim David to take care of the finishing duties.
