2 Indians MI targeted in IPL 2024 Auctions but could not sign

It is common for teams to miss out on their preferred targets at an auction. However, the names that they target give a good idea of what the team wanted and what strategies they have for the upcoming seasons. In this regard, Mumbai Indians had a good run in the IPL 2024 Auctions. They invested in some fine young overseas pacers, who would now combine with Jasprit Bumrah to form a solid-pace attack. That said, Mumbai also missed out on some interesting names. Here, we take a look at the list of two Indians MI targeted in IPL 2024 Auctions but could not sign.

1) Sushant Mishra

Having released the likes of Mohammed Arshad Khan, Mumbai Indians needed a left-arm pacer. This player would be needed as the backup for the likes of Dilshan Madushanka. Anyways, it is always good to have a domestic option ready for any position. A former U19 player, Jharkhand cricketer Sushant Mishra has shown a lot of promise. Hence, it was not a surprise that MI wanted him,.

However, after missing out on Yash Dayal, Gujarat Titans also wanted the cricketer. Hence, there was a bidding war. GT, obviously, had the bigger purse and was able to sign Sushant.

2) Robin Minz

Robin Minz is one of the Indians MI targeted in IPL 2024 Auctions but could not sign. Not many knew of Robin Minz before the auctions. However, for a relatively unknown cricketer earning such a high bid was special for the viewers.

A left-handed batter who can keep wickets, Minz is known for his monstrous hits. Mumbai Indians had invested in him before by sending him on some tours. Hence, it was expected that they targeted him. However, GT needed a reliable Indian keeper as the backup for Wriddhiman Saha. Here, as well, it was Gujarat that had the last laugh.
