Suresh Raina has made it very clear that there is no rift between him and the CSK team management and he didn’t mind the statement of N Srinivasan who called him prima donna after he decided to leave the CSK camp and return back home.
Raina had travelled to UAE with the CSK squad, but just as the news broke out that 13 members of the CSK touring party including two players were tested positive for COVID 19 and the squad would have to extend its quarantine by one more week, Raina decided to withdraw himself from this year’s IPL.
Nobody could understand what was the exact reason of Raina suddenly pulling out of the tournament and the speculations got rife when the CSK owner N Srinivasan himself said if somebody didn’t want to play, he wouldn’t force him to play, but Srinivasan added that after some time, Raina would realize what he’s missing and would also lose a huge amount of money.
Srinivasan further said that success sometimes gets to people’s head. That statement was perceived as an indirect dig at Raina.
Speculations about Balcony attached room
There were speculations that Raina was not happy with the fact that there was no balcony attached to his room in the hotel which was booked for the CSK camp. He wanted a similar room as the CSK captain MS Dhoni who had a balcony attached to his room.
However, Raina has now rubbished all the rumors saying that N Srinivasan is like a father figure to him and he doesn’t mind any scolding from him.
Raina also revealed that Srinivasan was not aware of the exact reason why he left the CSK camp, but now he himself has had a chat with the CSK bos and he has let him know why he made that decision.
“He (Srinivasan) is like a father figure to me and he’s always stood by me and is close to my heart. He treats me like his younger son and I am sure a lot of what he said was taken out of context. Ek baap apne bacche ko daant sakta hai (A father can scold his son),” Raina was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
