Australian batting star David Warner’s wife Candice revealed on a show on Triple M Sydney 104.9 that her middle child’s favourite player is Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Candice stated that the Warner family enjoys backyard cricket like any other family does in Australia. Her daughters love to bat and play the role of either David Warner of Aaron Finch. But it is her middle child who is a die hard fan of Virat Kohli and thus she wants to bat like him always.
“Yes we do play a little bit of backyard cricket but the funny thing is that my girls, sometimes they want to be Dad (David Warner), sometimes they want to be Finchy. But my middle child, she wants to be Virat Kohli and I am not even joking. Her favourite player is Virat Kohli. She is the rebel yes, absolutely,” Candice Warner said.
Virat Kohli has been famous for his batting and aggressive style of captaincy over the years
Virat Kohli has arguably been one of the best batsmen of the modern generation and his records speak volumes about his achievements. Playing against aggressive opponents like Australia brings the best out of him and that is what has made him a fan-favourite even outside India.
In 2018-19, Virat Kohli became the first Indian skipper to win a Test series Down Under. He had many verbal duals with Australian red-ball skipper Tim Paine which made a lot of headlines. Virat Kohli is never shy about having a word or two and is always ready to fight fire with fire.
Virat Kohli’s aggressive mindset and his competitive style of cricket is what might have made Warner’s middle child his huge fan. The Indian skipper continues to impress one and all with his aggressive batting and captaincy and will continue to inspire many young minds to be like him.
