“My Favorite, Best, Most Important Phone Call”- Liv Morgan’s Old Interview Goes Viral After She Becomes WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion

Liv Morgan won her maiden championship at the Money in the Bank premium live event last Saturday. She first defeated Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Shotzi, Lacey Evans, Asuka, and Raquel Rodriguez in a seven-woman Money in the Bank ladder match to grab the lucrative contract which she could cash in for a championship match at any point that she wanted.

Morgan did not wait long as only 102 minutes after winning the briefcase, she decided to cash it in after the match between SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Natalya ended. Rousey tried to fight back and put Morgan in a submission hold, but she rolled her up for the pin and captured the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Ronda Rousey hugged Morgan after she became the champion and whispered “You Deserve it” in her ears before leaving for the locker room. Morgan celebrated in the ring. Congratulatory messages from across the world poured in for Morgan as she finally won her first title after signing with WWE years ago.

In an interview with Cricket Wireless back in 2020, Morgan disclosed that the most important and best phone call of her life was when WWE called her to offer her a contract. She exactly remembered the date to be July 2, 2014. Exactly eight years later, she won the Money in the Bank briefcase and cashed it in to become the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion.

July 2 has been a lucky date for Morgan’s career. It will be interesting to see how she performs in her maiden reign as the champion. Fans have high hopes for her.

Morgan will make her first SmackDown appearance as the women’s champion of the Blue brand this Friday. As per reports, Ronda Rousey will challenge her at WWE SummerSlam 2022.
