“How Tables Turn”- A Twitter User Points Out How Michael Rippon Will Play For And Against New Zealand And Netherlands In 4 Months Gap

New Zealand and the Netherlands do not play international cricket regularly. While they are set to meet for the second time in 2022 later this year, they generally battled at the ICC events in the past. Earlier this year, the Netherlands traveled to New Zealand for an ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series. It proved to be Ross Taylor’s last ODI series for the New Zealand cricket team.

Now in August 2022, the New Zealand cricket team will lock horns with the Netherlands cricket team in a T20I series. Apart from the Dutch team, the Kiwis will also play against the Scotland cricket team and the Ireland cricket team.

The series will not only help the Kiwis prepare for the T20 World Cup later this year, but it will give some much-needed exposure to the associate nation players ahead of the mega event. Here is New Zealand’s squad for that series:

As mentioned ahead, the New Zealand cricket team hosted the Dutch team for an ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series earlier this year. Michael Rippon was a part of the touring party in that series.

He picked up three wickets in that series. Rippon rattled the stumps of Henry Nicholls and Ross Taylor in the first ODI, while in the second ODI, he dismissed Doug Bracewell. Rippon was born in South Africa, but he played international cricket for the Netherlands.

Having played domestic cricket for Otago in New Zealand for multiple seasons, he became eligible to play for the Blackcaps and is now set to don the New Zealand jersey.
