“Mohammad Rizwan has told his close friends that he would never let Sarfaraz Ahmed come back,” Ex fast bowler makes sensational revelation about Pakistan wicketkeeper batsman

Mohammad Rizwan is currently one of the most important players of Pakistan across all three formats of the game

The former Pakistan fast bowler Sikandar Bakht has revealed that one of the close friends of Mohammad Rizwan told him that the wicketkeeper-batsman would never let the former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed get back into the Pakistan team.

Sarfaraz Ahmed was a very successful white-ball captain for Pakistan and under his captaincy, Pakistan registered that famous Champions Trophy title triumph in 2017, but because of a decline in his personal form with the bat, Sarfaraz was replaced by Mohammad Rizwan in the Pakistan squad across formats and Rizwan has strengthened his position in the squad ever since.

Although Rizwan scores a lot of runs at the top of the order for Pakistan in T20I cricket, he still copes with severe criticism, particularly from certain sections of Pakistani media for his strike rate with the bat.

Many journalists and ex-cricketers are of the opinion that even though Rizwan scores a large number of runs, those runs don’t always impact the game because they don’t come at a good enough strike rate.

There were talks recently if Sarfaraz Ahmed could be brought back into the T20I squad of Pakistan for the World Cup in Australia because of his experience, but the Pakistan chief selector Muhammad Wasim didn’t go with that school of thought and he rather included a youngster Mohammad Haris as the second wicket-keeper among the reserve players for the T20 World Cup.

After the rise of Mohammad Rizwan, Sarfaraz has only played a couple of games for Pakistan

Sikandar Bakht was recently speaking on Geo Super as an analyst and he said that Rizwan has already vowed to his close friends that he would never let Sarfaraz earn an entry back into the Pakistan side because when Sarfaraz is there, there is always a question mark over Rizwan’s spot in the team.

Since the time Rizwan has cemented his place in the Pakistan set-up, Sarfaraz has only played a couple of games for Pakistan, but in those games, he was the one who kept wickets and Rizwan played as a specialist batsman.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
