Alberto Del Rio and Paige have been one of the most controversial couples in pro wrestling history. The Mexican Superstar entered into a relationship with the British female star when they worked together.

However, things became ugly in their relationship soon as they grabbed the headlines for unwanted reasons. Del Rio finally split up with Paige, and a long time after their breakup, he finally opened up on their relationship.

Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Del Rio opened up on her time with Paige and heaped praise on her. He mentioned that they could have built an empire together. However, bad company of people led to their downfall both as a couple as well as professionals.

“Completely. I will always say this, like, she is amazing. Like, amazing! She is an amazing performer. We could have been something fantastic together. We could have been; we could have built an empire together with her talent, my talent, our charisma,” said Del Rio.

The Mexican pro wrestler then added that instead of focusing on their careers and helping each other grow, he and Paige spent more time partying and hanging out with friends, who were not the best company to have.

“But instead of that, we used our time to do stupid stuff. To party, to hang out with not good companies, not good people, sorry, not companies, not good people. It is what it is. We could have, should have, would have, you know.”

Del Rio and Paige no longer work for WWE. While Del Rio has said multiple times that he is willing to make a return, WWE has not reached out to the former world champion. Meanwhile, Paige had to retire from WWE due to injuries. She has moved to AEW now, where she performs under the name, Saraya.
