Jasprit Bumrah has been out of cricketing action since September 2022. He suffered a back injury and was ruled out of the T20 World Cup along with all the games of India in 2022. It was expected that he would make a comeback in early 2023. But so far there have been no signs.

Bumrah was not named in the ODI series squad for Sri Lanka. But he later was added to the team as a late addition after the medical team deemed him fit to play. The pacer didn’t travel to the venue along with other teammates. And then later was ruled out of the series against Sri Lanka.

The pacer complained about stiffness in his back and governing body decided to keep Bumrah fresh for India’s upcoming important assignments in the Test series against Australia, World Test Championship and ODI World Cup.

It was expected that he would make a comeback in the Tests against Australia. But this hasn’t been the case as he was not named in the squad for the first two games. In the latest development, it is now learned that Bumrah has started bowling in the nets. It remains to be seen if he will be back in the team for the remaining two games or not.
