“Look How Far You’ve Come”- Rajasthan Royals Make An Emotional Post For Captain Sanju Samson Ahead Of IPL 2022 Final

The summit clash of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad tonight from 8 PM onwards. Sanju Samson will captain the Rajasthan Royals against the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans. Both teams have performed exceptionally well this season, but they have different background stories.

Gujarat Titans made their debut in IPL 2022, and when the IPL mega auction ended, not many fans expected them to achieve the success they have thus far in the competition. Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Royals won IPL 2008 but did not qualify for another final till this year.

In the past, Rajasthan Royals built their team around youngsters and vastly experienced players. The trend changed after the new owners came into the business as they invested in proven match-winners. However, one of the youngsters groomed by the Royals who remained with them was Sanju Samson.

Back in 2013, Samson announced his arrival in the Indian Premier League by playing a match-winning knock against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was a U-19 player back then, but now, he is the captain of the Rajasthan Royals and could lead RR to their second trophy.

Reacting to his success, Rajasthan Royals posted an emotional tweet earlier today. It featured Sanju’s photos from IPL 2013 and 2022. You can check out the tweet here:

Sachin Tendulkar felt that Sanju Samson played an unnecessary shot against RCB in Qualifier 2

RR qualified for the final by defeating RCB in the Qualifier 2 match of the IPL 2022 playoffs. Captain Samson could not make a big impact with the bat in that match. Sharing his views on the dismissal, former Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar had said on YouTube:

“Sanju ended up playing a couple of really good shots. But the way he got out to Hasaranga, if I am not mistaken for the sixth time, it was an unnecessary shot. He could have avoided that stroke and the game could have finished even earlier.”

It will be interesting to see how many runs the RR skipper scores tonight.
