MS Dhoni has been one of the important pillars of Indian cricket history. The cricketing brain possesses a great deal of knowledge about the game and has succeeded well as a captain during his heydays.

Under his captaincy, Team India reached great heights as they went on to become a phenomenal force to be reckoned with as far as the ICC events are concerned. MS Dhoni led India to maiden T20I World Cup glory in the inaugural edition of the showpiece event.

India made it all the way to the finals of the competition and got the better of Pakistan in the final. The Men in Blue won the ICC ODI World Cup 2011, in what was their second ODI World Cup title after 28 years.

Just a couple of years later, India dominated the Champions Trophy 2013 wherein they made it all the way to the finals in England. The Men in Blue got the better of England to win the coveted trophy.

MS Dhoni became the most-successful captain in the history of Indian cricket as far as the ICC events are concerned. He was also the only captain to have won ICC T20I World Cup, ICC ODI World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy.

Ever since MS Dhoni’s resignation as captain, Virat Kohli took charge of the team but failed to win any ICC event under him. Currently, Rohit Sharma is the captain of the Indian cricket team across all formats.

Team India have won four games out of the five in Super 12 and qualified for the semi-finals. India will be playing their first ICC event’s knockout game without MS Dhoni in 19 years. Rohit Sharma and Co will take on England in the second semi-final on November 10, Thursday at Adelaide Oval.
