Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan is impressed with the Indian Cricket Team’s aggressive brand of cricket. He touted the Rohit Sharma-led side as the red-hot favourites to win the men’s World Cup this year.

India whitewashes New Zealand 3-0 in the ODI series

The road to Cricket World Cup 2023 for the Indian Cricket Team has begun. The ICC tournament is slated to take place in India in October and November. 2022 wasn’t the kind of year that Men in Blue would’ve wanted and therefore they would be hoping for normalcy to return in 2023.

But the Team India kickstarted the year 2023 with a bang and a dominating statement in ODIs. They pounded Sri Lanka in all three games and displayed a staggering brand of cricket.

However, they didn’t just stop there as they were even better in the three-match series against New Zealand. They produced a magnificent effort in all three games and attained the No.1 spot in the ICC ODI rankings.

They won the first game by 12 runs and then bundled out the opposition for just 108 runs to win the second game by 8 wickets. If this was not enough, he then won the final game by 90 runs to complete the 3-0 whitewash.

What has been the main standout feature for them is the way they have been playing. They have stuck to the aggressive brand of cricket and despite losing wickets they are making sure that the run rate doesn’t go down.

They will play more than 15 ODIs and it’s fair to say that it’ll be the best possible chance for them to prepare.  After facing heartbreaks, they have one more chance to put their hands on the ICC trophy as Cricket World 2023 is just around the corner. The event will take place in India in October and November and with home conditions on offer, the Men in Blue will be clear favourites to win the event.
