Now, former India Head Coach Ravi Shastri has gone on to predict that Washi will be India’s all-rounder across all formats in the future. Washington Sundar might play a key role for India in future
It has been an interesting career trajectory for Washington Sundar so far with regards to Team India. While in the T20I format, he has been able to make an impact with the ball, in Test cricket, Sundar’s best contributions have come from his blade. Hence, he is unable to cement his spot in both these teams at the moment. Add to this, Washi is also suffering due to frequent injuries.
Nevertheless, going by his age and the time he has on his hands, Washi is sure to develop into a better cricketer. For that, he needs to strike a balance between the formats and start working towards becoming an all-format all-rounder for India.
