The Indian cricket team has a jam-packed schedule in international cricket this year. The Indian stars are currently playing in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League right now. Soon after, they will play multiple homes and away series. Earlier today, it was revealed that India will play a 3-match T20I series against Australia this year.
Many fans would know that after the conclusion of IPL, the Indian cricket team will host the South African cricket team for a 5-match T20I series. Soon after, the team will visit England and compete with the England cricket team in all three formats. The Indian team is also scheduled to tour Ireland, West Indies and Zimbabwe this year.
After returning home, India will play three T20I matches against Australia in September. Around the same time, the Indian side will participate in the 2022 Asia Cup T20. After playing so much cricket, the Indian team will head to Australia to take part in the 2022 edition of the ICC T20 World Cup.
“Australia will play a number of white ball series with home games against Zimbabwe, New Zealand, West Indies, and England coming to either side of three T20s in India in September,” Fox Sports reported today.
India and Australia played a T20I series against each other in 2020
The last time fans witnessed a T20I series between the Indian cricket team and the Australian cricket team was in 2020. In that series, debutant T Natarajan helped the Men in Blue register a 2-1 series win. It will be interesting to see if the selectors pick T Natarajan for the upcoming home series against the Aussies.
Natarajan has done a good job for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2022, but he has struggled with injuries. If he is fit, he could make it to the squad for the series against the Aussies.
