Before the 2021 T20 World Cup, amidst much fanfare, India had a new jersey. The colour was dark blue and there was a unique pattern on the jersey, captured by the voices of support by the fans in the stadium. Although the idea was novel, the pattern and the colour did not hit the expectations of the fans.
For the last few years, the fans had been requesting the kit makers to revert back to the sky blue kit which was liked by all. At the beginning of this century, India had a sky blue kit which had become very popular. However, later on, India moved to a darker hue of blue colour.
That said, now, the kit makers have considered the requests of the fans. They have given a light blue touch to the new kit, while also retaining the dark blue colour on the sleeves. The jersey does offer a fresh feel but it needs to be seen how it would appear when the players start wearing it on the field.
