Delhi Capitals have dropped below the Royal Challengers Bangalore on the points table. Now the equation for the playoffs is quite simple. If the Delhi Capitals win the match against the Mumbai Indians tomorrow, then the Royal Challengers Bangalore will be eliminated. In case Mumbai Indians win the match, then the Royal Challengers Bangalore will qualify as the fourth team.

Speaking at the post-match presentation after the Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated the Gujarat Titans in their previous match, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis said the following about Rohit Sharma:

“That was really important for me to see from us as a group today and control what’s in our hands. Probably one or two inconsistent performances put us in the position we are today but it was really important for us tonight. We have a couple of blue hats in our dressing room and I’m banking on Rohit to go big.”

Faf du Plessis and co. now want Rohit Sharma’s team to win the match against Delhi Capitals

Courtesy of their win against the Gujarat Titans, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have climbed to the fourth position on the IPL 2022 points table. RCB now have 16 points to their name from 14 matches. They need the Delhi Capitals to lose their last match.

Delhi Capitals have a much better net run rate than the Royal Challengers Bangalore, so if they win against the Mumbai Indians, they will have the same points as RCB, but they will qualify. Thus, Faf du Plessis wants Rohit Sharma to play a big knock.
