“I Would Personally Vouch For Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan And KL Rahul As Top 3 Batters”- Virender Sehwag Talks About India’s Combination For T20 World Cup

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag recently shared his views on the combination that the Indian cricket team should try to form for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. As per Sehwag, the top three batters should be captain Rohit Sharma, rising star Ishan Kishan, and vice-captain KL Rahul.

In an interaction arranged by Sony Sports network, Virender Sehwag said that the right-hand-left hand dynamic could prove to be interesting for India in T20s, which is why he personally wants to see Kishan in that Top 3.

Here’s what he was quoted as saying by The Indian Express:

“I would personally vouch for Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and KL Rahul as the top three batters for the World Cup in Australia. The right-hand and left-hand combination of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, or for that matter, Ishan and KL Rahul could be quite interesting for the World T20.”

Virender Sehwag thinks Umran Malik deserves a chance in the Indian squad

During the same chat, Virender Sehwag heaped praise on Umran Malik and said that he is the one bowler who has thoroughly impressed him. He wants Umran in the plans for the T20 World Cup and bowl alongside the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.

Last year, the Indian pace attack comprised Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami, with Hardik Pandya being the fourth option. However, some tough calls might be made this year because several fast bowlers put their hands up and performed well in the Indian Premier League this year.

Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan, and Harshal Patel will aim to break into the Indian T20 World Cup squad later this year Down Under. It will be interesting to see which fast bowlers receive the final nod from the selectors for the mega event.
