Virat Kohli’s latest interview on Jio is likely to drop anytime soon. However, there are already snippets available with a few platforms and a few details of the interview are already out. Here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as Virat Kohli says that the anchor Roles are important in his latest interview.
Virat Kohli talks about the role of an anchor in T20 cricket
In the past few days, the entire debate has been about the role of strike rate in a T20 game. After the RCB vs LSG game, Harsha Bhogle and Simon Doull were highly critical of the innings played by Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. This is despite the players helping the team get past the 200-mark. Since then, people have been waiting to hear what the players think of the same. Although not as a direct answer to them, Virat gave out a few views of his in this context:
As mentioned in India Today, Virat said, “Anchor roles are important in T20, there are many people who because they have not been in that situation themselves, they look at the game differently.” He added, “When Powerplay is done, some will like ‘Oh, he started rotating the strike’ but when you haven’t lost a wicket in PP, usually the best player comes in to bowl, you are trying to figure out what to do against them in first 2 overs and go big in last 2 overs. ”
Twitter reacts to Virat’s statement

I'm sorry but Kohli doesnt also seem to understand that for him to anchor, others have to hit around the park. That's how it works. And again people blow his anchoring role out of the park for no reason wherein most of the time he does it perfectly well. https://t.co/leIeLfaWLu

There should be nothing like aggressor or anchor. As Virat said play the situation. If it demands both to go hard, go hard. If it demands to play cautiously do it. & this man here is master of it. https://t.co/gFPtpBnFNv
