Australia surprised many by winning the 2021 T20 World Cup. Ahead of the tournament, India and England were seen as the favourites. However, Australia did well with their basics to lift the trophy. A number of key performers such as David Warner also came to form in this tournament.
Happening at home, Australia would be the firm favourites for the 2022 T20 World Cup. The team has a lot of balance with many all-rounders such as Mitchell Marsh, Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell. Further, Tim David will be a part of the event. The big-hitter has done well in various T20 Leagues. His inclusion will add strength to the finishing department of the squad. He will also join Maxwell in providing a few overs of off-spin. These factors make Australia a very strong squad for the competition.
