If Bangladesh beats Ireland in the three-match ODI series, South Africa will advance to the World Cup with direct qualification. They have a great NRR as well even if Ireland win a few games, the proteas can still manage to qualify.

Notably, Bangladesh defeated Ireland 2-0 in a three-match ODI series in March and South Africa would be hoping for the same result this time around. The series between Ireland and Bangladesh kick starts on Tuesday (9th May).

Ireland also has a great chance to qualify directly for the World Cup. They are currently 11th on the table with 68 points and an NRR of -0.382. For them to ensure direct qualification into the World Cup, they need to whitewash Bangladesh in the three-match series.

The three wins in three games will take them to 98 points but they also need to ensure that they win games by some margin as NRR might come into play if they managed to win all three games.
