“He said that I was too senior,” Laxman Sivaramakrishnan narrates what Rahul Dravid said when he offered his services to help spinners during the ODI series again Australia

India lost the series to Australia 2-1.

Former Indian cricketer Laxman Sivaramakrishnan narrated what Rahul Dravid said when he offered his services to help spinners during the ODI series again in Australia. He revealed that the Indian head coach told him that he’s too senior to work under him.

Twitter user highlighted that Steve Smith topped Rohit Sharma when it came to field placement in the third ODI against Australia

India suffered a disappointing loss in the third ODI against Australia and Chennai by 21 runs. The loss in the third game also marked India’s first series loss at home since 2019. After the enthralling two games, the decider went down the wire but the visitors held their nerves well under pressure and bagged the series.

It’s fair to say that the main reason behind Australia’s win was the captaincy of Steve Smith. The batter looked tactically sound as a skipper and was spot on with his bowling changes and field placements, especially to the spinners.

Indian spinners too bowled pretty well but it’s fair to say that field placements during India’s innings weren’t as pinpoint as were during Australia’s innings. Kuldeep Yadav managed three wickets whereas thanks to staggering fielding positions, Adam Zampa bagged four wickets and won the game for his side.

After that match, a Twitter user highlighted how Steve Smith’s captaincy changed the game. He also tagged former Indian cricketer Laxman Sivaramakrishnan and said: “Somehow I felt @imkuldeep18 didn’t bowl to right field. When Zampa bowled Smith had a very good attacking field set. Again for Agar Smith field setting was perfect.(7 off 3 on side field) Here is where you need experts @LaxmanSivarama1.
