“He deserves it more than me”, Video of Sachin Tendulkar sharing his award with Ambati Rayudu goes viral

The legendary Sachin Tendulkar is celebrating his 49th birthday on Sunday. Hence, there are wishes being poured for the former India cricketer from everywhere. On his birthday, an old video of Sachin which shows the greatness of the legend has gone viral. Back in 2011, Ambati Rayudu was fairly new to the tournament. The batter was first part of the Indian Cricket League and hence, did not take part in IPL for the first few seasons. He started his IPL career with Mumbai Indians and it did not take long for the cricketer to leave an impression.

In the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2011, Mumbai Indians had restricted the hosts to just 140 in the first innings. Mumbai Indians had David Jacobs and Sachin Tendulkar as the openers. While Jacobs got out after making 22 runs, Sachin stitched a partnership with Ambati Rayudu who came in at No.3. The duo helped MI cross the line with Sachin making 55 runs and Ambati Rayudu scoring 63 runs.

It was Sachin Tendulkar who was adjudged as the Player of the Match. However, during the presentation, Sachin took Rayudu with him and said that the youngster deserved the award more than him. It was a brilliant gesture by the legend. That video has now gone viral. Here is a look at it:

The first Indian to win the Orange Cap in IPL

At 37 years of age, Sachin Tendulkar won the orange cap in IPL 2010. He became the first Indian to bag the honour with Shaun Marsh and Mathew Hayden winning it in the previous two editions. Cricketers are now struggling to score consistently and the legend had done it easy by scoring 618 runs in 15 games when he was nearly at the end of his career.
