While 2022 was a disappointing year for Indian Cricket Team, 2023 started on a high note for them as they haven’t lost a series yet and with ODI World Cup around the corner, it’s a good sign for them to start on high.

This year also has given India a staggering opening pair in Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. While there was no question about the place of the skipper in the team, Gill on the other hand has made a strong case for himself just in a short span of time.

There was a tussle between Ishan Kishan and Gill for the opening spot after later’s double ton against Bangladesh in December last year. But the team trusted Gill and gave him longer rope and he repaid their faith by smashing a double century in the game against New Zealand.

The duo of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have complimented each other well and have given India a staggering start in almost every game they have played. In the 6 innings so far, they have compiled 403 runs to go with one century and three fifty-plus partnerships.
