He’s arguably the best Test batter that has played for the England. The southpaw has started his career on a high note as he smashed unbeaten 104 runs    in India at Nagpur in 2006. The former English skipper batted 243 balls to go with 12 boundaries. He ended up as the highest run-getter for England in Tests. In the 161 games he played, he scored 12472 runs to go with 33 centuries and 57 half-centuries. 

Johnathan Trott – 119 

Another popular England players who scored century on his Test debut is Johnathan Trott. He kick started his Test innings on high as he smashed a staggering ton against arch-rivals against Australia at The Oval in 2009. He ended with the knock of 119 runs and batted for 193 balls with the help of 12 fours. He ended up playing 53 games in the longest format of the game and scored 3835 runs to go with 9 centuries and 19 half-centuries.
