Indian Cricket Team has reached Bangladesh for the ODI and the Test series. This is the first time they have toured the country since 2015. They will be playing three white-ball games from 4th December to 10th December whereas two Test matches will be played in Chattogram on 14th December and Mirpur on 22nd December respectively.

All the senior Indian players are back in the mix after missing the New Zealand tour. The ODI series will also see Virat Kohli in action after setting up after setting the stage on fire in the T20 World Cup 2022. The right-hander ended the tournament as the leading run-getter with 296 runs to his name from 6 games.

This will also be the first time Kohli will be playing the ODI format after returning to form. The 34-year-old looked off colours for almost 3 years but since Asia Cup 2022 he has been back to scoring ways.

The three ODIs will be a great opportunity for Virat Kohli to surpass Ricky Ponting and score his 72nd century. His record in Bangladesh is also exceptional as in 16 games he has scored 970 runs with an average of 80.83 and 100.21 strike rate in the ODI format to go with 5 centuries and 3 half-centuries.

The ODI series will also mark his campaign for the ODI World Cup 2023. It’s fair to say that he will be the most important player for his side going into the event and if India needs to win the tournament, he needs to fire with his bat.
