Thursday was supposed to not be an exciting day for the Indian fans. Having been knocked out of Asia Cup 2022, it was a dead rubber against Afghanistan. However, the day turned out to be one of the best days for an Indian cricket fan. Virat Kohli finally scored a century and that has now broken the internet. Here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as Virat Kohli scores his first T20I century.
Virat Kohli scores his 71st century
Rohit Sharma was rested for the game and hence, Virat Kohli was promoted to open the innings. The last time when he opened, Virat had done a good job. Hence, there was an expectation that he would repeat his performance. That was exactly what happened in Dubai on September 8th.
Virat Kohli scored 122 runs in 61 deliveries. The knock included 12 boundaries and six huge hits out of the park. While it was Virat Kohli’s first T20I century, most importantly, after more than 1000 days, he finally hit the three-figure-mark. Almost every game India had been playing had this in the subplot. Now that Virat got this, it would be hard to stop him now.
For India, as well, the return of Virat to form will be a massive boost. Yes, they might have lost the Asia Cup but the 2022 T20 World Cup could be a memorable event now that Virat is back to form. India could now think of using Virat Kohli as an opener, too.

We have just seen the Virat Kohli of old. Everything that didn't seem to be present in his batting is definitely back. A quality knock by the Champion batsman.
