‘Alex Ferguson Of Ranji Trophy’- Dinesh Karthik In Awe Of Chandrakant Pandit After MP’s Win In Ranji Trophy

On Sunday, Madhya Pradesh made history when they won the Ranji Trophy for the very first time in their state’s history. In the championship match, which took place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, they defeated the heavyweights and title favorites from Mumbai by a score of six wickets. One name that will remain forever in the memory of fans is Madhya Pradesh head coach Chandrakant Pandit, whom Indian star Dinesh Karthik terms as the Alex Ferguson of the Ranji Trophy. The big names like Rajat Patidar, Kumar Kartikeya, and Yash Dubey will be credited with the success of the team for a long time, but fans will always remember Chandrakant Pandit.

The former Indian cricketer, who is now 60 years old, has already won six Ranji Trophy championships as a coach. Three of those victories came with the Mumbai team, two with the Vidarbha team, and the most recent one came with the Madhya Pradesh team. In the Ranji Trophy, he had played for and been captain of Madhya Pradesh in the past, but he would be remembered more for his achievements as a coach. Karthik, a veteran Indian wicketkeeper and batsman, has joined the chorus of supporters and analysts in praising Pandit for his outstanding performance with Madhya Pradesh this season.

“Couldn’t be happier for CHANDU sir. Amazing – Understanding personality traits – Preparing them accordingly – Using them tactically to win championships. ALEX FERGUSON of RANJI trophy.” Karthik tweeted.

It is a wonderful recollection that I left behind 23 years ago: Chandrakant Pandit

Pandit played for Madhya Pradesh for a total of six years, including serving as captain of the team that made it to the finals in 1999. They were defeated in the final by Karnataka by 96 runs on the same field, but Pandit, who took over as head coach for the youthful Madhya Pradesh team in March of last year, has now guided them to victory and brought glory to the state.
