The Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma, who was the man of the match for his brisk half-century in the T20 World Cup game against Afghanistan yesterday, came up with a hilarious reply when he was asked what sort of conversation he was having with Ravichandran Ashwin when he was out of the team.
Ashwin also made a comeback to the Indian white-ball team last night in the game against Afghanistan, and he bowled a match-winning spell straight away. It was Ashwin’s spell through the middle overs which halted Afghanistan’s momentum and put India on the path of a comprehensive win.
Ravichandran Ashwin didn’t get to play even one game on the recent England tour
However, the last few months have been really tough on Ashwin as despite being the premier spinner in the world in test match cricket, he had to sit on the bench for all 4 test matches on the tour as the left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja was preferred over him for the spin all-rounder’s slot.
When Rohit was asked what was the discussion between him and Ashwin on the England tour when the off-spinner was out of the team, Rohit said the discussion between him and Ashwin was where to go with their kids in the off-time and there was absolutely no discussion related to cricket at all.
“He (Ashwin) has two beautiful daughters, I have a daughter as well, so we used to talk which theme park should we take our kids to, in our off time,” Rohit told the reporter who asked him about his conversation with Ashwin in the post-match press conference.

Ashwin might have had to sit out of all the games on the England tour, but it was a very successful tour for Rohit sharma personally, as he proved his credentials as a test match opener in overseas conditions and well and truly cemented his spot in the test team of India.
