“Both Sacked By RCB And Now Won IPL Trophy”- Old News About Gary Kirsten And Ashish Nehra Goes Viral After GT Become Champions

Gujarat Titans made history by becoming the first franchise to beat the Rajasthan Royals in an IPL Final and win the prestigious Indian Premier League title. Captain Hardik Pandya played an integral role in GT’s success, but in the post-match presentation, he also credited the support staff led by Gary Kirsten and Ashish Nehra for their hard work.

Many fans would remember that the trio of Vikram Solanki, Gary Kirsten, and Ashish Nehra were members of the Royal Challengers Bangalore backroom staff in the past. However, the RCB team owners did not retain them after a dismal show in IPL 2019. They appointed Mike Hesson, Simon Katich, and Sanjay Bangar to their coaching staff after that.

Ahead of IPL 2022, the Gujarat Titans team owners elected the trio of Vikram Solanki, Gary Kirsten, and Ashish Nehra as their backroom staff members. Solanki got the director’s post, while Kirsten became the batting coach and the team’s mentor. Nehra became the first head coach of the Gujarat Titans team.

When IPL 2022 started, not many fans gave a chance to GT, especially because of the auction they had. However, the backroom staff members and captain Hardik Pandya utilized their resources to the maximum and delivered the goods when it mattered the most. GT eventually became IPL 2022 Champions.

A Twitter user shared old news related to Ashish Nehra and Gary Kirsten

Soon after the final match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League ended, a Twitter user uploaded a screenshot of an old news article that stated that the Royal Challengers Bangalore had sacked both Nehra and Kirsten.
