Babar Azam picks three players that can be superstars for Pakistan in World Cup; leaves out Shaheen Afridi

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has picked three that can prove out to be superstars for Pakistan in the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023. What caught the attention of many was he didn’t pick the linchpin of the bowling attack Shaheen Afridi.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is around the corner. What has been enthralling is the tournament will take place in India and various media reports have suggested that it’ll take place from 5th October.

A total of 47 matches are likely to take place throughout the tournament with Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, Rajkot, Bengaluru, Delhi, Indore, Mohali, Guwahati and Hyderabad being the prime venues for the games.

One of the exciting teams going into the tournament will no doubt be Pakistan. They have over the years played some excellent brand of cricket and it’s fair to say that they will be among the favourites to win as well.

Recently Babar Azam picked three players that can be superstars for them in the World Cup. He picked Saim Ayub, Mohammad Haris, and Omair Bin Yousaf. The trio has been a beast in the domestic circuit.

While Mohammad Haris amassed 350 runs in 12 games at a strike rate of 186.17 in the PSL 2023, Ayub scored 341 runs in the same number of matches. Bin Yousaf on the other hand has 2687 runs in 40 first-class matches to go with seven fifties and nine centuries.

“They just to focus hard and do simple things properly,” Babar Azam on Saim Ayub, Mohammad Haris, and Omair Bin Yousaf.

Babar Azam also lauded the trio of Saim Ayub, Mohammad Haris, and Omair Bin Yousaf. He said that they just want to focus hard and are doing simple things.

“As far as promising youngsters are concerned, Saim Ayub, Omair Bin Yousaf, and Mohammad Haris are potential superstars in my opinion. They just to focus hard and do simple things properly without burdening themselves with the pressure of international cricket. 

Pakistan recently was seen in action when they locked horns with New Zealand in the white-ball series at home.
