Australia is an in-form cricket team at the moment. While they won the 2021 T20 World Cup, they have also been excellent in Tests. They won tournaments against England and Pakistan earlier this year. However, the firm focus, for now, will be the T20 format. Australia will host the 2022 T20 World Cup and hence, they would want to win it. On that note, here, we take a look at the Australia Cricket Team schedule for September 2022.

Australia’s summer started with the ODI series against Zimbabwe. The team fielded a near full-strength squad. The main idea was to build game practice in the players ahead of the T20 World Cup. Australia would play its final game of the Zimbabwe ODI series on September 2nd.
Then, neighbours, New Zealand will arrive in Australia for a three-match ODI series. After this assignment, the Aussies would travel to India for a three-match T20I competition. This series will give an idea of where Australia stands at the moment in the context of preparation for the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Here is Australia’s schedule for September:
- Australia vs Zimbabwe 3rd ODI – September 2nd
- Australia vs New Zealand 1st ODI – September 6th
- Australia vs New Zealand 2nd ODI – September 8th
- Australia vs New Zealand 3rd ODI – September 11th
- Australia vs India 1st T20I – September 20th
- Australia vs India 2nd T20I – September 23rd
- Australia vs India 3rd T20I – September 25th
The defending champions would want to win the trophy at home
In 2021, not many expected Australia to win the T20 World Cup. However, they played as a team and managed to take the trophy home.
That said, at home, defending the trophy will be a hard task. All teams are preparing well and Australia will be under pressure to defend the crown in front of their home fans. However, Australia is a serial trophy winner and it won’t be a surprise if they clinch the trophy yet again.
