IPL 2021: Arshdeep Singh reveals his last over plan against Samson | PBKS vs RR

The match that held between the Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings was one hell of a thriller. The match consisted of immense drama as well as thrill since it was a last-ball decider. Although RR showcased a remarkable performance, yet the Punjab Kings clinched the victory.

After achieving a close victory, the Punjab Kings bowling maestro, Arshdeep Singh opened about his bowling plan. He remarked that his main motive was to bowl wide yorkers to Sanju Samson in the last over. Arshdeep also added that he was glad that the plan worked.

Sanju Samson, the skipper of RR, knocked a dashing 119 runs in just 63 balls. Yet, his effort went in vain as Arshdeep barged him from scoring 13 runs in the last over. KL Rahul’s composed poise and Deepak Hooda’s flashing hits led the Punjab Kings to a total of 222 runs in 20 overs. In response, the RR dugout fell short of a mere 4 runs and lost the match.

What did Arshdeep Singh say about his experience?

Talking openly about his thoughts and game plan, the star bowler from last night, Arshdeep Singh said:

“Now it is beating pretty good. Before the last over, it was beating pretty fast. The plan was simple and it was to execute six balls wide outside off. I tried to york him. The only thing he could get was a four. But he got under one of those.”

“But still the plan was to execute the same. The staff and the captain have been very supportive. They were telling me in the practice game, what role I need to play. That really helps the confidence.”The form was really good in the 20 over tournament (Syed Mushtaq Ali). The ball was coming out nicely. We have a knack of playing close games. Good to get those two points.”
