A Statistic Proves Why IPL 2022 Was The Worst Season For Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma had a forgettable IPL 2022 season. To end the season, Sharma played one of the most disappointing knocks of his career as he scored only two runs off 13 balls against the Delhi Capitals. For the first time in the Indian Premier League history, the Mumbai Indians finished last on the points table.

One of the main reasons behind their downfall was the disappointing show from the team’s senior players. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard and Ishan Kishan could not impress much in the batting department. While Pollard was dropped from the playing XI, Kishan and Sharma played all the matches for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022.

Speaking about the reason why IPL 2022 was the worst season for Rohit Sharma, the reason is that for the first time in his career, he finished an IPL season without a half-century. Sharma got close to the 50-run mark on a couple of occasions, but he fell short of the 50-run mark.

Sharma has been a part of every IPL season since 2008. He initially played for the Deccan Chargers before joining the Mumbai Indians. The Hitman will be keen to regain his form soon because he will play some important matches as Indian cricket team captain in 2022.

We felt we were inconsistent throughout the IPL 2022 season: Rohit Sharma

The Mumbai Indians are playing their last match of IPL 2022 tonight, and speaking at the toss ahead of the match against the Delhi Capitals team, Rohit Sharma reflected on the season and said:

“It’ll be crucial for us to restrict them as low as possible and bat freely. We’ve said nothing out of the box. We felt we were inconsistent throughout the season and failed to perform as a unit in all departments. That’s been the constant talk in the group, about coming together and performing collectively.”
