Ruturaj Gaikwad set the stage on fire in the ongoing quarter-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 against Uttar Pradesh. The Maharashtra skipper played one of the finest knocks and helped his side post a big total on the board, in what is a must-win game.

Asked to bat first, Maharashtra lost wickets in quick succession and were tumbling at 123/3. But skipper Gaikwad looked unfazed by what was happening at the other end. He looked settled and slowly carved his way into the century in 109 balls.

Continuing his good form, Gaikwad went on to score a double century with him scoring the next 120 runs in just 50 balls. He ended with the score of unbeaten 220 runs and helped the hidden side post a total of 330 runs.

What was the main highlight of his innings was when he smashed 7 consecutive sixes in the 49th over, which included a no-ball as well. He smashed Shiva Singh all over the park and scored 42 runs in a single over.
