Mumbai start disappointingly against CSK

Mumbai Indians have struggled so far in IPL 2022. It continued again with arch-rivals CSK getting two important wickets in the first over itself. Choosing to bowl first, CSK had a great start as uncapped pacer Mukesh Choudhary collected the wickets of Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma in the first over. Since then, it was a catching up situation for CSK. Although Suryakumar Yadav looked promising, he too fell early. Youngster Tilak Varma played a good innings to give Mumbai a decent score of 155-7.

Meanwhile, Twitter got a topic to discuss after a brilliant field placement by CSK. Back in IPL 2010 finals, Kieron Pollard was all set to take the game away from CSK. However, MS Dhoni placed a straightish mid-off and also had a long-off. This was a strange field setting and instantly paid off for him. Pollard got out and CSK won the trophy.

Yet again, a similar field setting was on display on Thursday. Of Maheesh Theekshana‘s bowling, CSK had Shivam Dube almost right in front of the side screen despite having the regular long-on and long-off fielders. The next ball, Pollard played a big hit and the ball went straight to Shivam Dube. It was a massive wicket because the West Indian seemed to be in good touch. Here is how Twitter reacted to this incident:
