New Zealand is on a European Tour and after the games in Ireland and Scotland, they would next play in the Netherlands. Here, we take a look at the Sportpark Westvliet pitch report and also the weather conditions for the series. Most fans would have not seen much of this venue and hence, the news about the pitch will be keenly awaited by many.
New Zealand is obviously the better squad of the two. However, the Kiwis have had a few phases of the game on this tour when they lost momentum. The Netherlands has a few players who can make use of it. Hence, Mitchell Santner’s New Zealand will have to be wary of the challenge. The first T20I will be on 4th August and the next and the final one will be on 5th August. Both games will take place in the same venue.

This venue has hosted just the five T20I games so far. Hence, in terms of sample size, there is not much to deduce from the results so far. Nevertheless, the trend is that the pitch has not been a high scoring one. While the average score is just 147, the highest team score is 162, an achievement by Scotland against Bangladesh in 2012.
Teams batting second have won 60% of the games and hence, fielding first could be the likely choice of the team winning the toss. Richie Berrington’s century against Bangladesh in 2012 is the highest individual score so far while Timm van der Gugten’s 3/18 against Bangladesh is the best bowling performance on this pitch till now.

The Hague will offer good conditions for both games. On Thursday [4th August], the temperature is expected to be around 24 degrees celsius while on Friday [5th August], it’s likely to drop down by three or four degrees celsius.
On both days, the weather is partly cloudy but the chances of rainfall are less. If rains do pour, it is likely to be on Thursday. Nevertheless, there is no expected interruption to the game.
