Navdeep Saini continues to make inroads in county championship for Kent, right arm pacer rocks Lancashire with a 3-fer

Navdeep Saini would look to maintain consistency in county championship and force his way back into Indian test team

Navdeep Saini, who has fallen behind a lot of other Indian fast bowlers in the pecking order of national selection, continues to make inroads for Kent in the county championship and his performances in the county circuit might force the Indian selection committee to have a look at him again.

Kent is in the first division of the county championship and Navdeep Saini is getting the opportunity to bowl to some of the top first-class batsmen in the English domestic circuit.

Saini started his county stint with a 7-wicket haul in the first game against Warwickshire, which included a 5-for in the first innings and a couple of wickets in the second and his bowling was one of the main reasons why Kent won that game comfortably.

Saini has continued his bowling form in his second game against Lancashire as well and has grabbed three wickets in Lancashire’s first innings so far, which has taken his wickets tally to 10 in a total of 3 innings.

This is the first time Navdeep Saini is playing in the county championship

This is the first time Navdeep Saini is playing county cricket and sometimes, it’s not easy for the young players to find the right lengths in English conditions. And this season in England has been a little different in the way that it has been a bit more batting friendly than usual, as the Duke’s ball hasn’t moved much.

However, Saini has been able to make a mark for Kent with his sheer pace and his ability to hit the deck hard. Since he is tall as well and can hit a good length consistently, he has presented quite a challenge for the batsmen in the county circuit.

Saini would want to put on a few more impressive performances in the remaining part of the ongoing county season so that he can force his way back into the Indian national team again, where the competition for every spot is immensely intense at the moment.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
