Deepak Chahar has been one of the top assets for Team India as far as the all-rounder department is concerned. The all-rounder has well and truly showcased his mettle with the ball and bat when it mattered the most.
Deepak Chahar has represented the Indian cricket team in 13 ODIs and 24 T20Is so far. He accounted for 16 dismissals in the ODI format, registering his personal best bowling figures of 3/27.
On the other hand, he took 29 wickets to his name in the shortest format of the game, registering his personal best bowling figures of 6/7. Moreover, he has maintained an impressive bowling economy of 5.75 in ODIs.
On the contrary, he has an economy of 8.17 in Twenty20 Internationals. He has been pretty decent with the bat as well and has scored crucial runs for the team. Notably, he has slammed two half-centuries to his name, registering his best score of 69*.
In 2019, Deepak Chahar etched his name into the record books after he became the first Indian male cricketer to bag a sensational hat-trick in a Twenty20 International match against Bangladesh.
Deepak Chahar least bothered about the competition in the Indian team
The all-rounder has been out of the game for a long time now owing to multiple injury setbacks. Had it not been for his injuries, it would have been a different story altogether.
He played only a few games in the previous calendar year before injuries ruined his place in the pecking order. The 30-year-old Agra-born cricketer had a hard time recovering from the stress fracture.
He could feature only in 15 games for Team India in the last year and was also ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 tournament due to an injury. Meanwhile, he has recovered from the injury and is hoping to make a comeback anytime soon. He further added that he is preparing for the IPL. Besides that, he said he is least bothered about the competition in the Indian cricket team.
Chahar further stressed that he is pretty much focused on getting fully fit and performing with the ball and bat 100%. He said that if he keeps delivering the goods with the ball and bat, he will get a chance to represent Team India.
