“Move Conway To 3 and Open With Him And Ruturaj”- Twitter Reacts To 1st Day Of Ben Stokes At CSK Camp

Ben Stokes did not waste any time after landing in Chennai and straightaway joined the CSK training camp at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Stokes participated in a net session and also played a practice game, where he destroyed the bowlers and the throwdown specialists of the franchise with his clean hitting.

Stokes will play his first season for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL this year. He has represented Rising Pune Supergiant and Rajasthan Royals before. The England all-rounder won the Most Valuable Player of the Season award in his first tournament itself, but he could not win it again in any of the seasons after that.

He missed the IPL 2022 season but is set to make a comeback to the league in 2023. Chennai Super Kings went all out and signed him for a mammoth sum at the auction. Stokes is likely to play in all matches for the Chennai Super Kings team this season.

Looking at the way he batted in the practice session, some fans even opined that CSK should use him as an opener along with Ruturaj Gaikwad. Former New Zealand coach Glenn Pocknell gave his opinion on CSK’s combination and said in an interview with Sportskeeda:

“I hope they do play him (Conway) because he has been a success in the last season for Chennai. You’ve got another quality one there with Ben Stokes so the owners and the coaches will need to sit and plan how they want to pick their XI with the overseas players available.”
