While skipper Rohit Sharma (120), Ravindra Jadeja (70) and Axar Patel (70*) were main the architect behind the show, pacer Mohammad Shami has given a moment to cheer everyone.
After that wicket of Ravindra Jadeja during the first hour of Day 3, it was expected that Australia would wrap up Indian tailenders quickly. But Mohammad Shami made a good hammering to the visitors as he made bowlers toil hard and made them look clueless.
Shami came with an aggressive mindset and along with pondering bowlers all over the park, he defended the ball well and frustrated the Australian bowlers. He stitched a crucial 52-run partnership with Axar Patel and made sure that India take the lead of over 200 runs.
Shami scored 37 runs in just 47 balls and it’s fair to say that it was the most entertaining innings of the match so far. He batted with a strike rate of over 78 and smashed 2 fours and 3 big sixes in his innings. The pacer was finally dismissed by Todd Murphy as he mistimed one and was back in the hut.
