Another ball for Erling Haaland to add to his collection. On Saturday, the Norwegian forward entered the game with 39 goals for the 2022–23 season; at the end of the game, he scored 42 goals for the blue team.
In a lopsided match on Saturday at the Etihad, Manchester City easily dispatched Burnley 6-0 to go to the FA Cup semifinals. Haaland scored twice in the first half and the game-tying goal in the 59th minute to help his Championship high-fliers level with Vincent Kompany’s team.
When Haaland went amok for the second time this week, Kompany’s return to Manchester wasn’t as welcome as he had thought. The 22-year-old is red-hot right now. He scored five goals against RB Leipzig on Tuesday to help City to a 7-0 victory. City also won 6-0 on Saturday to make it 13 goals scored in two wins in less than a week.
Haaland was rightfully named Man of the Match on a rainy evening in the northwest. City can now look forward to an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium.

Haaland scored his sixth hat trick of the season on Saturday. He currently has 16 hat-tricks total, 16 for his club and 2 for Norway. As a result, many people have questioned whether or not he was the best option for City. Indeed, he is.
After scoring five goals in the Champions League against RB Leipzig, Haaland was not content and scored twice in quick succession in the first half to bury runaway Championship leaders Burnley, who had gotten off to a promising start.
In the second half, he scored the last goal of his hat trick to cap off a rampage for Pep Guardiola’s squad that also included goals from Cole Palmer and Julian Alvarez.
