IPL playoffs will decide the travel date of a few players
The WTC Finals will happen just a few days after the IPL final. It is critical that the Indian Team gets into the zone early. It will take a while for the players to get used to the conditions in England. Not to mention, getting used to the red-ball after two months of non-stop T20 action will also be a factor.
In this context, a few players could travel to England early. A few players will not be needed in the IPL if their respective teams do not qualify for the playoffs. Hence, as per reports, they would travel early. This is good planning because a few players will get some important time practising for the final. The other cricketers would anyways join the squad after a while.

The scheduling aspect has always been difficult for Team India. Even in the past, a few important events have happened just after the IPL. While the workload is an issue, the team coming together after a long time is also a thing that will take time and effort. Nevertheless, this issue will get slightly reduced for the upcoming WTC finals. A few players such as Axar Patel and Umesh Yadav are in teams that are not doing well in IPL 2023. Such cricketers going early to England will help them a lot. While Axar is not expected to play the finals, Umesh Yadav is likely to be the third pacer in the XI.
