Cody Rhodes made an epic return to WWE at this year’s WrestleMania show. He was the surprise opponent for Seth Rollins, and the two Superstars had a cracker of a contest that saw Cody emerge victorious. The two Superstars would then go to have rematches at WrestleMania Backlash and WWE Hell in a Cell inside the demonic structure. Cody won the matches and completed a 3-0 record against Seth Rollins.
Fans expect one more final match between the two Superstars because Seth Rollins attacked Cody before his injury break. WWE legend Ric Flair thinks that Cody should be booked to become the world champion soon after he recovers from his injury.
Speaking on To Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair heaped praise on both Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Here’s what Flair had to say:
“Well, there again, if I’m thinking and seeing how well he was received. I mean he proved himself to be in that category of the word ‘great.’ He and Seth had some gangbuster matches. I may not see eye-to-eye with Seth Rollins, but he really did right by Cody. To me, I’d take him [Cody] through it and eventually make him a champion.”
Ric Flair is a big fan of the way Cody Rhodes carries himself
During the same podcast, Ric Flair mentioned how he himself loves to get dressed up and build an aura of a character while on the screen. He thinks Cody Rhodes also knows that art and carries himself well on WWE TV.
Rhodes recently won the ESPY award for the best WWE moment of the year 2022. He is recovering from his torn pectoral injury and should return to RAW in the near future. The former AEW Superstar may likely return as one of the surprise entrants in the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match.
